This book is still relevant in 21st century. The so-called development engulfs in itself, the scars that no one can hide or close eyes to. The unending misery in the life of a middle income urban. The misery cycle continues and it transcends the generations to come. Here Gregor is not the real victim. Gregor Samson is the liberator of that cycle. The victims here are others who cannot understand the words of Gregor. The corporate oriented minds of Samson' s cannot fathom the new understandings of Gregor and he is reduced to the status of insect. The insect or the metamorphic specie whose identity and place is disposable and often a burden on its company and family.
Gregor struggles and find a peace in its new form but the wave of frustrated and disturbed souls in his family , often blame him for the disturbance in their so called peaceful lives. The so called peace is exposed again when parents of the gregor find themselves landing in abyss of tension , as they think of the Grete marriage.
Therefore , the Samsa's status quo is shattered by the anti status quo - Gregor but their strong rebuttal leads to the death of Gregor. Though, in reality, Gregor metamorphosis and eventual death lead to the spare time for Samsa's.
Thus, even blessing his family (Samasa's) even after his peaceful death.
The book , being relevant in so many aspects in the contemporary fast paced world, I would recommend it to every student or struggling person. Reading this book might provide some relief , though it might look horrific and gruesome at first but it engulfs in itself a secret code to tell ,the code to break the cycle of corporate imposed sufferings. Read it in one go and you will stand up with the light heart and clear mind.
